Congratulations to the DDI Louth members for pulling out all he stops in their organisation for the Drogheda anti water charge rally on Saturday.

A third of the entire town turned out en-masse to voice their feelings

Below is video of a stirring speech at the event by DDI spokesman Ben Gilroy highlighting the real agenda behind government actions.

In it he highlights how simple it would be to turn this all around and take back control of our government and our country’s destiny; the vote was overwhelming.

Let’s make this happen and get citizen initiated referendum back in our Constitution.

We call on the government to hold a referendum to reintroduce direct democracy provisions to our Constitution.

    John O’Donoghue

    Best not to quote Freud. He has been completely debunked. Most of his claims were found to be spurious and he lied in his case studies both regarding the number of people he treated and also in the beneficial effect of his therapy. He was also addicted to cocaine. It should be remembered at the time that cocaine was freely available to purchase at the local chemists and was even advertised in local newspapers.

    There are psychotherapies that are worthwhile when treating psychological disorders, but Freudian analysis is no longer considered one of them and in so far as I know is not offered by any national healthcare provider such as the NHS etc.

    Even worse than the nonsense that Freud perpetrated was the nonsense that his nephew Edward Berney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays) perpetrated. He is seen as the Godfather of marketing to the masses so that they want bigger and better products so as to feel better about themselves.

    Also with regard to FG/FF/Lab being in the pockets of big business, I am not so sure that is actually true. What they are in the pockets of is the idea that big business will somehow create full employment and a fairer society. That is why they court the bigger multi-nationals. I believe this is a delusion they need to wake from as it hasn’t happened yet and it won’t happen in the future.

    Finally got to some sort of relevant point at the last paragraph there John;

    ‘Also with regard to FG/FF/Lab being in the pockets of big business, I am not so sure that is actually true. What they are in the pockets of is the idea that big business will somehow create full employment and a fairer society’.

    Is that not one and the same thing?

    Great speech Ben, well done.
