Anti fluoride councils hits double figures
By Admin D
Today Monaghan County Council joined their neighbour Cavan in seeking the removal of fluoride from our water supply. Cavan passed a motion back in January and now Monaghan passed a motion proposed by Cathy Bennett calling for the removal of fluoride citing the absolute right of people to choose for themselves what they ingest.
Wicklow County Council also discussed a motion brought by Pat Kavanagh and Stephen Mathews at the council meeting today but deferred a decision pending more information.
The list of major councils calling for an end to fluoridation is now into double figures including Cavan, Cork City, Cork Co, Donegal, Dublin City, Galway, Kerry, Laois, Leitrim, Wexford and today Monaghan.
DDI’s two exec members Colin Ryan and Simon English will continue their campaign advising the Councillors of their lawful authority to stop this practice immediately, regardless of whether the government repeals the 1960 Act or not. They will continue to push this until we have a critical mass of councils when the next step will be considered.
More motions are planned around the country in the coming weeks.
